ABANA Conference in La Crosse, Wisconsin
In the European Tent there were blacksmiths from Germany, the Czech Republic, Holland and other nations forging a variety of objects. The main effort on their part was a huge, beautiful eagle that stood over 60 inches in height. It was sold for over $3,500.00 at the auction, and that was a bargain.
In the photo on the right, you can see one of the European smiths forging on an Old World Anvil's Habermann anvil that was loaned to ABANA for this conference.
The European Forging area appeared to be the largest of the forging areas. The paper cut out on the left side of the photos shows the actual sizes of the pieces that were used to make the Eagle.
We didn't get a photo of the finished Eagle, but I'm sure that ABANA will have a photo of the eagle on their web site.
