You must include the following information in your order:
  1. Name and Address and phone numbers where you can be reached.
  2. Products you are ordering - a description of the product you are paying for and want me to ship to you. If it's an anvil, give me the anvil's style name and weight.
  3. Address you want your product shipped to. Fed Ex Ground Service for products under 70 lbs charges a residential surcharge. You can save a few dollars by having the package shipped to a business, yours or maybe a friends or relatives. Residential maximum weight is 70 lbs. Business rate is more than 70 lbs.
  4. If you don't have a loading dock that an 18 wheeler can back up to and a fork lift to unload the product off of the truck, FedEx Freight has terminals all over the US. You can pick it up at the nearby terminal (see below).
Shipping Information
I can have an anvil delivered to your location via common carrier. I have negotiated an excellent discount with FedEx Freight. Only Wal-Mart get a high discount.. They can deliver to your door or to a commercial address. There is an additional charge to deliver to a residential location that cannot unload a heavy anvil from the back of a truck with a forklift or accomadate an 18 wheeler. Another option is to have the anvil delivered to the trucking company's nearest terminal and to pick it up there. They can load the anvil into your vehicle at no additional charge. My trucking companies have terminals in all regions of the country. Many of my customers opt for this alternative and just drive to the nearest terminal and have the anvil loaded onto their vehicle at no additonal charge.

Should there be any signifigant delay from the date of a shipping quote to the date the shipment actually departs, an adjustment may need to be made to reflected the new shipping price. Shipping prices can change from week to week, based on the price of diesel fuel or if the shipping company feels like raising prices. I make no money on shipping, I just pass it on to the customer.

Smaller anvils (under 70 lbs) are shipped via FedEx Ground. Fedex Ground is for packages and FedEx Freight is a trucking company.

This is much cheaper for you, the customer, than to have them shipped via a trucking line. Trucking companies have a minimum charge of $50-65.00, so it makes no sense to pay this for a 66 lb anvil, when FedEx Ground is so much cheaper.

Examples of Shipping Costs
I'll give you a couple of examples of shipping costs. I can ship a 260 pound anvil on a pallet to Charleston, SC for $78.01. I can ship the same anvil to Louisville, KY for $57.33 and $97.96 to Napa, CA. (date on Napa, CA shipment is 01/10/2001). In the first two cases the buyer is picking up the anvil at the truck terminal. This really saves you money. In the Napa, CA example the customer had a loading dock and fork lifts and the anvil was deliverd directly to his ranch.
